Center for Experimental Media Arts (CEMA) at Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology offers a two-year post-graduate program in Experimental Media Arts.
It provides a framework for students to enhance and consolidate their intellectual and practical achievements by working on projects-individual, faculty-directed and collaborative.
The program offers a stimulating environment where practices often dialogue across disciplines. Through tutorials, group discussions, symposiums, exhibitions and workshops the EMA students are expected to engage in exchange of ideas and skills with a wider community of practitioners.
While developing their individual practice the students also have access to other academic resources at Srishti.
CEMA understands that people from different backgrounds bring together diverse experiences and expertise to the lab. See Admissions to know more about our application process. CEMA was set up in 2007 to pioneer pathways for graduates from any discipline with adequate prior learning, explorations and the potential to pursue their deeper interest in contemporary media arts.
Since its launch, CEMA has been instrumental in attracting international artists-in-residence and students who want to veer off the beaten path into experimental spaces.
The work of those involved in the Experimental Media Arts program also seeds the undergraduate programs in Srishti and allows for researchers and artists at CEMA to find a ready pool of students, both under-graduate and graduate, who are interested in and willing to work on superlative projects.
